We’ve been exploring various parks with our little guy. We give Corona Heights Park high ratings for its dog-friendliness. Not only does it have a grassy area and a hill for hiking, but it also has a gated dog run for off-leash romping. And the views… breath taking.

Playing catch-up

Our little furball is growing up so fast! In the blink of an eye, our three pound painfully shy canine now weighs ten pounds and is maturing into a confident, bright, playful pup who thinks and acts like he’s a big dog. He recently bested a Rottweiler. (We’re not kidding! Video to be forthcoming!) He graduated from Puppy School, has a girlfriend named Maura, and knows over two dozen commands/tricks. Most recently, he learned how to bring the mail to Papi. Papi’s now working on teaching him how not to eat it!

Maintaining this blog has proven to be much more time consuming than anticipated. Our apologies for not being able to post more frequently. We love that so many of you have taken such an interest in him. There’s so much we’d love to share.

We’ll be going back and playing catch-up, adding new entries based on the dates of events as time allows. We’ll also be adding some video that’s guaranteed to make you smile.

If you’re not already on the blog mailing list, you may want to subscribe so you can receive links to what has been updated/added. Entries we post for August and early September, for example, will not show up as new entries when you check the blog or your RSS reader and may be missed.

More to be forthcoming!

First Furcut

We were fortunate to find a groomer who allowed us to watch and be there for Puppy Chulo during his first grooming experience. No easy feat. Nearly every groomer we called said that we’d have to leave the little guy for the day with them and would not be able to watch or do any paw-holding. Pfffffft. Papi would hear nothing of it.

Mandy, the groomer we ultimately went with (pictured above), was great and glady accomodated our request. She was also impressed with how calm and cooperative Puppy Chulo was. He was a really good boy and did not put up a fuss. I think Mami and I were much more nervous about his first visit to the groomer than he was.
